First UNJSPB Audit Committee meeting of the year

20 February 2020

The Audit Committee of the UN Joint Staff Pension Board (UNJSPB) just concluded a three-day-meeting (17-19 February 2020). The Committee provides the Pension Board with assistance in fulfilling its oversight responsibility relating to internal and external audit, financial management, risk management, and internal control framework.

At its latest meeting, the Committee reviewed the four audit reports recently finalized by the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) on topics ranging from financial reporting to travel. The Committee also considered the progress made in the implementation of outstanding audit recommendations and the mitigation actions for high-level risks. “It is a privilege to be a member of this Committee which plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Fund remains in a position to fulfill its responsibilities to its 213,000 participants and beneficiaries,” stated Mr. Adnan Chughtai, the Chair of the Committee. “The Committee facilitates the work of the Board by devoting expertise and time to detailed discussions with the Fund’s management,” he added.

The Committee meets three times per year and submits a report to the annual session of the Board. Click here to see the Terms of Reference and the current membership of the Committee.
